Route 5: La Parada del Rey via Monte Aguirre and La Raya
We leave the Fuente del Cura recreational area, following the signs on the panel, along the Muñequilla path, passing next to the Fuente de la Villa fountain and continuing straight on, heading southeast.
The asphalted section ends and gives way to a track that enters the oak grove, this initial section is shared with the SL 03. At about 1,900 m we reach the turning where the two routes separate, we continue to the right.
Further on, cross the Aguirre pine forest barrier and turn right at the next fork, before turning left a little further on and passing by an old forestry house. After passing an old orchard area in the pine forest, an uphill stretch begins with sharp bends along a reforestation path, which will take us to the Mostajo path, a forest track that we take on our right and continue along it for about 2,500m. The track we were following dies at another forest track (Morcuera track) which we take downhill and a few metres further on, we turn left and take the Morcuera track which takes us to the parada del Rey (King's halt).
Here we can admire the majestic corral of oak trees of the Doce Hermanos and contemplate the magnificent views we have of the Perdiguera range in front of us and the reservoir at our feet. The path continues eastwards, crossing the meadow and descending for about 2,600m through the oak grove of La Raya, to reach the asphalted section at the beginning of the route.
