Manzanares el Real. Santillana Reservoir Ida
This is an easy and short 2.4 kilometre route that takes us from the town of Manzanares El Real to the vicinity of the Santillana Reservoir. The walk along the banks of the Santillana Reservoir starts in the southwest of the municipality of Manzanares El Real, over the stone bridge of the Manzanares River. We head west out of the municipality and cross the M-608, turn right and continue southwest along a local road that will take us across a bridge over the tail end of the Santillana Reservoir, where the Samburiel stream flows into the reservoir. Once over the bridge, turn left and walk along an asphalted path for pedestrians that borders the reservoir. Continue along the reservoir's waterside until you reach the end of the route. This is an easy and short route. The route starts on the outskirts of the municipality, so there is practically nothing to do in the urban environment, except for a local road crossing with a traffic light and zebra crossing. Once past this point, the route follows a wide pavement and then a path, with some obstacles along the way. After passing this area, we must cross a bridge with protection on both sides, but we share the road with the vehicles, at this point we must advance on the left side. Once you have passed this point, turn left and walk along a track for pedestrians and traffic restricted to authorised vehicles, with ditches on both sides and, in some areas, a slope. The route ends at a Canadian crossing.
