Miaccum Roman Inn. El Beneficio archaeological site

Roman site in Collado Mediano: inn and baths next to the Fuenfría road (1st-4th century AD). Interpretation centre and guided tours.

his archaeological site originates around an inn located next to the Roman road that crossed the Sierra de Guadarrama through the Fuenfría pass, which formed part of a dense network of Roman roads in what is now the Community of Madrid. This road mainly connected Titulcia with Segóbriga. It is thought to have been in operation between the 1st and 4th centuries AD.

It currently has an interpretation centre and the possibility of guided tours, both tourist and educational. Its accessibility is very convenient as it is located very close to the town centre.

The ruins clearly show a central courtyard, the rooms where travellers slept, the inner courtyard and the Roman baths, with their hot water(Caldarium), warm water(Tepidarium) and cold water(Frigidarium) rooms. A visit allows us to imagine and interpret the intense life of these roads and their great commercial significance in Roman life, only a few centuries before us.
